This is not just a tactics class. The goal of this class is to give the student the mental tools and response skills for an intruder in the home, or attempting to enter your home.

Attendees should be familiar with Basic Handgun skills and be a comfortable and safe shooter. Advanced shooting skills are not required for this class. While this class will utilize a handgun for instructional purposes, students will leave with the concepts applicable to any firearm, as mindset being more important than the particular tool.

I recently completed a one day course “In Depth Home Defense”- outstanding in terms of education, training and safety. I went in considering myself reasonably knowledgeable and experienced as I am a USCCA instructor and certified in Home Defense training, only to learn how much more room to grow there was. Mike and Ron (my second class with Ron) have it down to a clear, methodical, step by step approach that can take one from complete novice on this subject to a safe competent home defense plan for you and your family. Plus it was a lot of fun!! Not only will you learn legal foundation for self defense both home and general you will learn firearms retrieval and loading for home occupants, first aid for GSW and traumatic injuries, principles of building movement using a very large barn on the range. Within this barn Mike and Ron have very large high ceiling walls on wheels that can be design to the layout of your home giving you the ability to learn movement through out your own house. You will concentrate on contact versus shelter in place, pieing, and limited penetration (clearing or sweeping) each room and you will learn how to respond to law enforcement when they arrive at your home and how to talk to 911 while the intruder is in your home. On top of all this you will have some basic handgun training (live fire) on the range. Mike and Ron are extremely patient and helpful (thank god)! They make a great team and both of their backgrounds are very impressive. Neither of them are abrasive or belittling they are quit the opposite. The day is long 8am-4pm so come prepared with food and drinks. I can not recommend this course enough, and I plan on training with the both of them very soon.
