• Many shooters do not get to practice handgun presentation from the holster as often as they would like. And they do not have the opportunity to practice with an instructor or coach helping to refine the draw stroke. This class will provide the students with the chance to refine their draw stroke, with an eye to getting a solid first round, or controlled pair on target, in the most efficient manner possible. This class will focus on the draw stroke under the following conditions. Open holster. With turns from 90 degrees and 180 degrees. Open front concealment garment. Closed front (such as a tee shirt, sweat shirt etcetera) garment. Seated positions. Many of the exercises will be practiced both dry and with live fire.

  • As armed citizens, we often focus on the use of firearms, empty hand, edged and improvised weapons to defend ourselves. These are worthy skills to pursue. However, we often fail to either deeply examine the laws of self-defense, or grasps the concepts and legal ramifications of using our skills.   • The Intermediate Shotgun Course is designed for the shooter that wants to improve their skills using the shotgun.  The student should be familiar with the operation of their shotgun and be proficient with the basic fundamentals and safety with firearms.     The student will learn to proficiently operate the shotgun as a home defense firearm, the proper use of cover and concealment, shooting on the move and positional shooting.

  • Suitable for the intermediate to advanced shooter, the Women Only Handgun Defense Course will focus on advancing your skills to your maximum ability through repetition. As the course progresses you’ll be exposed to the psychology required to draw and successfully hit a target at seven yards at speed. You must come prepared to learn, both mentally and physically. Topics will include a review of marksmanship fundamentals. Efficient presentations from the holster, tactical reloading, Movement during the presentation. Shooting on the move. Multiple target engagements. Precise targets such as headshots and partially covered targets. Proper mindset. Actively clearing common stoppages. Using cover/concealment. This course will give students a foundation and allow them to understand what/how to improve and maintain proficiency. Prerequisites Understanding of gun safety and range rules and have basic knowledge of handgun use and/or passed a Basic handgun class. You must supply your own handgun.

    Instructor Bio

    With over 25 years of experience with firearms, 10 of which training others, Jennifer has taught hundreds of women, men, youth & seniors. Currently a certified Ventura County Concealed Weapons instructor and a member/trainer for the NRA “Woman on Target” program supporting and educating females in the shooting sports and the “Disabled Shooting Services Program” that enables those with physical disabilities to participate in shooting sports. Jennifer has a passion for teaching and understands that women learn differently than men. A native of Southern California, Jennifer has lived in Ventura County for over 30 years. During that time she has worked for a variety of large corporations and small businesses throughout Ventura County including AT&T, Bank of America and Amgen. As an avid outdoor enthusiast, she and her family enjoy horses, dirt bikes, water sports and shooting sports.
